Andy Sacher Mandolin & Vocals
About Andy:
Playing bluegrass since the early 1960s, Andy is steeped in first generation traditions,
but has always believed in enhancing the bluegrass repertoire with new material.
While still a teenager in Chicago, he named his first band the Calumet Sag and
Sanitary Canal River Valley Boys. Andy moved to Vermont in 1975, and has
played in a string of first-rate bands, from Shady Grove to The Storm.
His big mandolin sound and style are well known in the Northeast, thanks to
a 12-year stint with Breakaway.
Andy sings lead on many memorable songs and is a solid baritone voice in any trio.
